STUTTGART, Germany – Robinson Barracks Elementary School welcomed more than 400 students, families, and community members for this year’s Family Literacy Night, a signature event celebrating reading, creativity, and connection. The evening’s success reflected the strong partnerships between the school, the NEA, the RBES PTSA, and the Stuttgart Community Spouses Club (SCSC), whose support made the event possible. These organizations contributed essential funding for materials, props, games, books, and more.

The event was led by the school’s Information Specialist, with a focus on making literacy more engaging, creative, and accessible for all students and families. More than 20 interactive stations facilitated by teachers and staff, whose contributions helped ensure a welcoming and enriching experience for all who attended, provided engaging, literacy-focused activities for families. Highlights included a mini golf course in the library, creative stations for writing and crafts, and hands-on challenges such as story cubes, logic games, and marble roller coaster building. An obstacle course added an active element to the evening.

The event featured entertainment such as a family karaoke station and performances from the Patch Middle School drama club, bringing stories to life through engaging skits. High school volunteers supported station activities, while Scouts hosted a bake sale for attendees. A complimentary dinner was provided by the PTSA.

Family Literacy Night remains a highlight of the school year at RBES, demonstrating the meaningful impact of community collaboration in supporting student learning and family engagement.
