Celebrating National Teacher Day: Honoring Our Everyday Heroes!
Next week, we are excited to celebrate National Teacher Day! Held annually on the first Tuesday of May, this special day is dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the hard work and dedication of our teachers. They play a crucial role in shaping our futures, nurturing our curiosity, and inspiring us to reach our full potential.
Why Are Teachers So Important?
Teachers do more than just instruct us in math, science, and reading; they also teach us important life skills. They encourage us to think critically, solve problems, and work together as a team. Our teachers are our mentors, friends, and guides who support us in our journey of discovery and growth.
Ways to Celebrate Our Teachers
- Write a Thank-You Note: A simple note expressing your gratitude can make a teacher’s day brighter! Share a specific moment or lesson that meant a lot to you.
- Create a Fun Poster: Show your creativity by making a poster celebrating your favorite teacher. You can include their favorite quotes or what you appreciate most about them.
- Share a Special Memory: Talk to your friends about your favorite memory with a teacher and why it made such an impact on you. You could even share these stories in class!
- Bring a Small Treat: A small treat, like baked goods or snacks, can be a sweet way to show teachers that you care. Just be sure to check for any allergies!
- Participate in Class Activities: Engage in classroom activities with enthusiasm and respect. Showing your appreciation through participation can make a big difference.
As we celebrate National Teacher Day, let's take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful lessons we’ve learned this year. Our teachers truly are everyday heroes, and by showing our gratitude, we can contribute to making their day a little more special!
Thank you to all our amazing teachers for their endless patience, kindness, and dedication.
Happy National Teacher Day!

RBES Teachers Recognized by the Community Superintendent
On Monday, April 28th, the Community Superintendent, Ms. Latress Cobb visited RBES to proudly present Teacher Nominee Appreciation Certificates to the dedicated educators who had been formally nominated for DoDEA Europe East District's Teacher of the Year Award for the 2025/2026 School Year. Each teacher's commitment to excellence and their positive impact on the school community were celebrated with heartfelt applause. The Superintendent expressed deep gratitude for their unwavering dedication, emphasizing how their efforts inspire and uplift the entire school. It was a moment of joy and recognition, highlighting the invaluable contributions of these exceptional teachers.

RBES Community Club
Students in Community Club are learning that strong communities are filled with citizens who perform acts of service for one another. These acts can be as simple as holding the door for someone or as big as serving in the military. We have worked on our small acts of service, trying to make our school community a place where we all feel safe and appreciated. The Community Club is for students in 3-5 grades. If your student would like to join us, we are excepting new members. We meet on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30.
We now need your help with our big act of service- Project Hygiene. We will request donations from the school and the post communities for hygiene items. The students will then make hygiene bags for the homeless community in the Stuttgart area. We are working with an organization that is already equipped to distribute the bags to those in need. We will be collecting hygiene items from Thursday, May 1- to Wednesday, May 14. We are also going to have a “Spare Change” jar. Your spare change can make a difference. The change will be used to buy specific bags to put the hygiene items in before distribution.

1st Graders
RBES 1st Grade students have been exploring measurement through a journey of discovery, exploration, and understanding. They delved into various aspects of measurement using hands-on activities and real-world applications. They used non-standard objects to measure objects around their classrooms. They compared the size of different objects. They learned to apply measurement techniques in practical scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving skills and critical thinking. This exploration has not only helped them grasp the fundamental concepts of measurement but also fostered a deeper appreciation and understanding of everyday concepts.

Letter Formation
Is letter formation important for your child's literacy development?
Absolutely! Think of proper letter formation as one of the building blocks of your child's literacy journey. When they master the correct way to write letters, their writing becomes clear, legible, and easy to understand. But that's not all—this skill also boosts their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, which are essential for many everyday activities. By supporting your child in learning proper letter formation, you're setting them up for effective written communication and academic success. It's a fundamental skill that will benefit them throughout their life! Working on proper letter formation can be fun and multisensory! Sand trays, Ziplock sensory bags, and playdough are just a few examples.

Thanks to the PTSA for all their help with the Blue Ribbon Celebration, Read Across America Month, the recent dance, STEM activities, and many other activities they have sponsored this year.
