Volunteer Program Information
As we prepare for the SY2025-2026 school year, we want to inform you about an important update regarding our volunteer program.
While many of you have submitted paperwork for the 2024-2025 school year, all volunteers wishing to continue in SY2025-2026 will be required to complete and resubmit their volunteer packets. This is necessary to comply with Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Personnel Security Processing requirements through the Personnel Security Case Administration System (PCAS).
The PTSA and classroom teachers need assistance throughout the year, and your volunteering greatly benefits our school. If you choose to work solely with the teacher in the classroom, you do not need to fill out volunteer paperwork. However, if you wish to assist with chaperoning during field trips, support PTSA activities, or need to roam the hallways away from a teacher, you will need to complete and submit the volunteer paperwork.
Please note that the process can take some time, especially if you have not gone through it before, so we recommend starting early. To do so, please fill out the necessary forms and submit them to the secretary at julia.peabody@dodea.edu.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Your support and volunteering help make our school a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Kindergarten Adventured to Herzogliche KugelbahnÂ
On Wednesday, May 14th, the Kindergarteners embarked on a sunny day to test out the Herzogliche Kugelbahn In Sandacker Kernen in Stetten. As they arrived, their eyes widened with wonder at the intricate marble runs and interactive exhibits. The children eagerly explored, watched their marbles race through twists and turns, and learned about physics in the most fun way possible. Their laughter filled the air as they engaged in hands-on activities and made unforgettable memories. This adventure sparked their curiosity and fostered a love for learning and discovery. 🌟Have you ever visited Kugelbahn yourself?

Information Center
The Information Center is one of the most exciting and dynamic places on campus! It’s more than just books, it’s a center of discovery, creativity, and connection. Ms. McGoldrick works collaboratively with teachers to plan the best programs for students at every grade level, making sure every visit is engaging and meaningful.
Students visit the library in a variety of ways, sometimes as a whole class, individually, or as part of their rotations. Whether they’re diving into research, buddy reading with another class, or answering questions on their own or with a partner, they’re always engaged and learning. They also love using our online public access catalog, MackinVision, to find that perfect book.
The library is full of special moments. Snuggling up with a stuffed animal and a good book, listening to a story read aloud by Ms. McGoldrick, or exploring the STEM room to create and build. Parents and guest authors sometimes join in the fun by reading to classes, helping foster a strong sense of community.
And behind the scenes, our amazing volunteers keep everything running smoothly. Their time and dedication help make the library a warm, welcoming, and well-organized space for everyone.
Whether students are reading, researching, collaborating, or creating, the Information Center is truly the heart of our school. A place where curiosity grows and learning comes alive!

Springtime is upon us with rainy days, sunny days, and lots of blooming! We are all overwhelmed with sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. As much as our littles try and keep their hands clean, inevitably hidden germs go from hand to mouth and eyes. Conjunctivitis, or pink eye, is common this time of year for that reason. If your student wakes up with crusty eyes that cannot be opened, constant discharge, pain, and pink/red eyes, they are excluded from school until treatment AND no current drainage. If this occurs during school, you will be contacted to pick up the student. Pinkeye is very contagious and can be passed from one eye to another or from student to student. Additional information is included. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. It is much appreciated!
Respectfully,
Nurse Cris

Take Reading on the Road!Â
We can work on reading skills even when we are not at home. Whether it’s on the bus, subway, trolly, car, or on foot, this is a great time to practice foundational reading skills while out and about.Â
*When you see a letter in between slash marks, that represents the sound…/b/ says not the name of the letter.Â
